Schools Volunteers Needed
- Do you have weekday availability?
- Do you enjoy interacting with young people?
- Do you have good communication skills?
Croydon Community Against Trafficking (CCAT) are seeking volunteers to go into secondary schools in Croydon and talk to them about human trafficking taking place in the borough.
Volunteers will need to be available in term time between school hours. Speakers will be in pairs when they deliver the talk and a teacher will always be present in the classroom.
We hope to maintain existing relationships we have with secondary schools in Croydon as well as develop new ones. We aim to speak to 15-17 year old girls and boys.
Training will be provided.
Expenses will be reimbursed for travel and lunch (travel within zones 1-6 and up to £3.50 for lunch). A reference will also be provided.
Successful applicants will need to be reliable and enthusiastic, with an interest in human trafficking. This is a good opportunity for those who want to work with young people and/or develop their public speaking skills.
If this sounds like you, please send your CV and a short covering letter explaining why you are suitable for the role to: info@theccat.com with ‘Schools Volunteer Application' as the subject title. |
Events Volunteers Needed
- Are you creative?
- Do you work well within a team?
- Do you like to plan and organise fun events to benefit an important cause?
CCAT is a registered charity fighting human trafficking in the borough of Croydon. We are seeking volunteers to join our Events Team to help plan, organise, advertise and run events throughout the borough to raise awareness of the injustice of human trafficking.
Currently we are planning our big fundraising event of the year, the 10k Stiletto Walk 2011 taking place in November. Due to the success of the event last year, we are returning to this fun filled sponsored walk with a difference!
Successful applicants will need to be self motivated, organised, reliable and enthusiastic about eradicating human trafficking. Occasional evening / weekend work will be required. This is a good opportunity for people who want to gain experience in the events management / charity sector.
This is an ongoing role, but you should be able to commit to a minimum of 3 months. In return, you will provided with a reference and travel and lunch expenses (travel within zones 1-6 and up to £3.50 for lunch).
